Firefighters evacuated a family of five from a Bendigo home after a fire started on a stove last night.
After a passerby called 000 at 10.22pm, CFA crews arrived to find the single-storey weatherboard house smoke-logged.
They evacuated a family of five, whose members were treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation. A nine-year-old boy was transported by ambulance due to smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to have started from a pot left on the stove.
Emergency accommodation was organised for the residents and a building surveyor will assess the house.
