Between 13 and 16 December 2020, vegetation slashing was completed north of Elmore along the railway line.
This work was stage one of a two-step fire prevention works.
In stage one, the area slashed to reduce the risk of fire spread runs along both sides of the railway line between the Northern Highway and McCormicks Road, as far as the access road near Adams Road.
Stage two is planned burning in the same slashed areas.
