CFA is currently at AGL Loy Yang near Traralgon assisting with a coal “hot spot” in the Loy Yang mine.
The fire is contained.
Six CFA vehicles including a ladder platform are on-site and are treating the area with water and fire suppressant. A helicopter is also being used to provide thermal images.
The hotspot is not emitting smoke and therefore there is no community impact.
AGL Loy Yang recently identified the hot spot on the southern side of the mine and has been monitoring the situation.
No damage or injuries have been recorded and electricity production has not been affected.
