CFA is investigating the cause of a house fire at Ferntree Gully last night.
Firefighters from Boronia, Rowville and Ferntree Gully were called the Outlook Court property at about 6.40pm.
CFA District 13 Operations Officer Don Tomkins said crews arrived to find the garage and roof space well alight.
“The family, including a five week-old baby, was home at the time of the fire but thankfully they escaped uninjured,” he said.
A 24 year-old CFA volunteer suffered minor injuries during the firefight and was transported to hospital.
The house was extensively damaged by the blaze.
