Inaugural Spirit of CFA Awards winners announced

The outstanding achievements of CFA volunteers and staff were today recognised at the inaugural Spirit of CFA Awards.

Inaugural

The awards covered a number of categories, ranging from community engagement to innovation and were presented to both career staff and volunteers across CFA.

The Spirit of CFA Awards was launched to recognise the outstanding achievements and significant contributions made by CFA staff and volunteers to both the organisation and local communities across the state.

CFA Chair Greg Smith said he was pleased to have the opportunity to shine a light on some exceptional staff and volunteers.

“This initiative highlights the depth of talent and commitment upon which CFA can draw,” Mr Smith said.

Chief Executive Officer Paul Smith said the awards acknowledge the significant contributions CFA people make to both our organisation and local communities.

“It was incredibly humbling to hear the achievements of the nominees and recipients. Meeting our passionate people reinforces the important role of CFA and the values it represents,” Mr Smith said.

“While all recipients are being rightly recognised, I’d like to make a special mention of Susan Little, who took home the very first Living the Values Award. Susan truly embodies the dedication of our volunteers.”

Chief Officer Steve Warrington said it was important to recognise those who go above and beyond the call of duty for their communities every day.

“I would like to extend my congratulations to the nominees and recipients of the Spirit of CFA Awards,” Chief Officer Warrington said.

“Their outstanding efforts are integral to helping us achieve our ultimate goal; protecting lives and property.”
