Kicking goals for the community

Bayswater members traded fire hoses for a football as they took on the might of junior footballers in the annual Bayswater CFA versus Bayswater Auskick match.

Kicking

This is the tenth year the brigade has hosted the community event.

The crew ran out onto the field without a win against the scrappy Auskickers, and despite a valiant effort, returned to the rooms defeated yet again.

This is the tenth year the brigade has hosted the community event, where members of Bayswater Auskick get to play against firefighters in full structural gear. The game aims to build stronger links with the community and educate children about fire safety.

The event has grown in popularity each year with players and their families getting the opportunity to inspect fire trucks and learn about firefighting after the game.

Bayswater CFA Captin Diana Ferguson said the event fostered a great relationship between the footy club, community, children, and the CFA.

“It’s great for team building, encouraging health and fitness among our members, and developing trust in our firefighters within the wider community,” Diana said.

Well done to everyone who played and supported a great night!
