Kyneton Fire Brigade members and their families took a flight around their local area in recognition of and thanks for their service and sacrifice to the Kyneton community.

On Saturday 6 February, Kyneton Fire Brigade members and their families were hosted by Kyneton Aero Club for an event dubbed Fire Flight, where members of the aero club volunteered their time and aircraft to take brigade members and their families for a flight around their local area in recognition and thanks for their service and sacrifice to the Kyneton community.
Ten local pilots and aircraft participated in the event, where approximately 30 flights were made with about 50 passengers getting airborne.
The event was initiated by Kyneton Fire Brigade member Matt Henderson, who is also a pilot and served the previous four years as the Kyneton Aero Club President. He sees first hand the time, effort and sacrifice both brigade members and their families make to protect the local community and thought it was a unique way for Aero Club members to say thank you.
It was also an event which built on an already strong working relationship between the two organisations.
