Firefighters were quick to extinguish a truck fire on the Princes Highway in Trafalgar today.
CFA crews from Trafalgar were supported by Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters on scene.
Crews were called to the incident at around 11.40am on 10 May.
The fire had engulfed the cabin and the engine of the truck and fortunately, the occupant of the vehicle had safely self-evacuated upon arrival.
Incident Controller, Trafalgar Captain Danny Mynard, said the quick emergency response resulted in the fire being brought under control within around 15 minutes and fully extinguished within 30 minutes.
“All firefighting crews worked well together on scene,” Cpt Mynard said.
“We were able to save the contents inside the trailer of the truck.”
Police attended and blocked one lane of traffic on the Princes Highway while crews brought the incident under control.
Cpt Mynard said the cause of the fire was understood to be a mechanical fault.
The incident was brought to a stop at around 12.08pm.
