Retirement of Mark Gilmore AFSM

North West Region Operations Manager and Regional Commander Mark Gilmore AFSM will be retiring next month.

Retirement

Mark's retirement comes after 40 years of outstanding service to both CFA and Forest Fire Management Victoria.

"Mark is extremely well respected by all levels of CFA, other emergency services, by key partners in local council and ultimately by his communities in central Victoria," said Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner Mike Wassing, who used to be the region's director.

In recognition of Mark’s retirement and his admirable contributions to both CFA and the fire services more broadly, a function will be held on Friday, 24 August 2018 at the All Seasons in Bendigo.

Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP by Friday 27 July by emailing r.mcdonald@cfa.vic.gov.au or phoning 5430 2228.

Mark will be concentrating on growing the perfect grape crop from now on at his vineyard in Kingower, and will also continue in his volunteer role with Rheola Fire Brigade.
