The Sedgwick CFA Running Teams competed in the Region 19 Rural Championships on Sunday 28th February in Dunolly with terrific results.
The 11-13 year old team consisting of Daniel Colvin, Molly McGregor, Lachie McGregor and Sam Abbott achieved the following results:
- 2nd in the Hydrant and Tanker
- 3rd in the Wet Hose and Ladder
- 2nd in Priming Pumper and Ladder
- 3rd in Low Down Pump
- 1st in Tanker Drawing Water from Ladder.
The team were equal first in the Aggregate for their age group with Mandurang and ended the day as equal District 19 Champions.
The 11-15 year old team consisting of Sam Drechsler, Josh Abbott, Max Kelly and Liam Jacobs also had a fantastic day finishing:
- 1st in Hydrant and Tanker
- 3rd in Wet Hose and Ladder
- 2nd in Priming Pumper and Ladder
- 1st in Low Down Pump and Ladder( New record of 17.53 seconds beating the previous mark set by Breazley's Bridge in 2010)
- 3rd in Tanker Drawing Water from Tanker.
This team won the Aggregate for their age group and are now District 19 Champions.
Our 17 year old boys stepped up to the Seniors this year which is a big jump . The team consisting of Ben Drechsler, Alex Rossen, Cailem McGregor, Sam Kelly and Josh Abbott competed well against more experienced and seasoned competitors.
A fantastic effort by all the boys and coach Brendan Drechsler for the 2 Junior teams to be District 19 Champions 2 years running!
