Taradale Under the Stars Family Film Night

Taradale House, a new accommodation venue located at the end of Phillips Road in Taradale has recently held its’ annual Under the Stars Family Film Night.

135 visitors enjoyed food, wine and the film “Babe” in perfect summer evening conditions.  Proceeds of the evening are donated by owner Andrew Righetti to both the Taradale Fire Brigade and the Taradale Primary School. Both the brigade and the school had volunteers available to assist with and support the event. This year was the events second year and saw numbers double on the previous year.

Taradale Captain, Robert Schomacker, enjoyed the evening with his family and grandson Max (pictured) saying: “Whilst any donation to the brigade is always welcome, we will do whatever we can to maximise the returns that events like this bring to the brigade and indeed the Taradale Primary School.”

“The main benefit is that as a brigade we can get together with members of our community on a casual basis. There is no agenda other than having a relaxing time with family and friends in an informal and relaxing atmosphere. Should an incident occur however, we have the capacity to respond as required,” Schomacker commented.

With the exception of some burnt popcorn, the night went off without a hitch and property owner Andrew Righetti, the Taradale Primary School and the Taradale Fire Brigade look forward to another film night early next year. The plan is to possibly have two films showing simultaneously in separate locations on the property. Andrew hopes to have a film that suits the older visitors whilst also continuing to cater for the family friendly crowd that has seen the event succeed and grow over the last two years. If you would like to receive information about the night prior to the next event please contact Taradale Fire Brigade on This email address is being protected from spambots. The Brigades next major event is the Taradale Mineral Springs Festival on the Sunday of Labour Day Weekend where all hands will be on deck. The brigade will be assisting with parking, running a BBQ stall, providing first aid for the event as well providing brigade information. Plus, the CFA community information van, little fire truck and Captain Koala will be there for all your Fire Ready Information. It will be a huge day for the town and is the brigade’s major fundraising event of the year. All welcome!
