The Timbarra – Gil Groggin fire, 12km north-west of Buchan, is not yet under control.
Increased fire danger has been forecast for today Tuesday 25 February which may result in the fire breaching containment lines. In the event that this occurs fire agencies will provide updated advice to the community. Residents are advised to stay informed by listening to ABC radio and to enact their fire plan if the situation changes.
Firefighters will remain on full alert today and will continue to patrol the fires edge, strengthen fall back lines in and around Buchan and extinguish any hot spots ahead and during today's weather.

SIRENS
What does a community alert siren mean?
If a siren sounds for up to 90 seconds it indicates a CFA brigade is responding to an incident nearby. A continuous siren for five minutes means that there is a significant emergency and you must seek further information because it may affect you.
What do I need to do if I hear a community alert siren sound in my community?
If a siren sounds for five minutes, you must seek further information immediately from a source such as the emergency services’ websites, the Victorian Bushfire Information Line or emergency broadcasters such as community radio stations, ABC Radio or Sky News.
