CFA Acting Chief Officer Garry Cook said the CFA VESEP program is again aimed at supporting our volunteers in the field through enhancing; operational health and safety, volunteer amenities, replacement or new auxiliary operational equipment, the provision of training aides, specialist appliances, field command vehicles and the replacement of aged firefighting appliances.

Under VESEP, the Victorian Government matches every $1 paid by volunteer groups with $2 co-contribution, to a maximum contribution of $150,000.

Minister for Police and Emergency Services The Hon Lisa Neville MP said almost $14 million was available for agencies under the latest round of grants, which is part of the Government’s commitment to VESEP that has provided more than $90 million over the last six years.

Due to the challenges of the COVID19 pandemic the application period for submissions has been extended to 16 November 2020.

Brigades/Groups can only apply for one project per funding round as per Emergency Management Victoria guidelines.
