Thanks to a generous grant from Goldman Sachs Gives, Main Ridge Fire Brigade has been able to install a new electronic messaging board increasing engagement with the local community.
Main Ridge is a popular tourist destination, and many visitors and locals are unaware of important fire safety information and current fire restrictions.
The Main Ridge Fire Station is located centrally in the community and was identified as the ideal location to install an electronic messaging board.
The purpose of the board is to inform local residents and visitors to the area about vital fire safety information including current fire restrictions, summer preparedness and home fire safety.
The brigade had been trying to raise funds to install an electronic messaging board and when they were approached by Goldman Sachs Gives about the grant it was the perfect match.
“The sign is impressive and has had an immediate impact with the local community. Our job in communicating with the public is now so much more efficient," Main Ridge Fire brigade Captain Ian Troutbeck said.
"The feedback from the local community has been fantastic with many of them wondering what will be coming next on the display. Other fire brigades in our surrounding area are looking to install something similar and are asking us about supply and installation.
"Thank you Goldman Sachs Gives for funding this great community asset.”
