Horsham café devastated by fire

Horsham's Farmhouse Providore Café. Horsham's Farmhouse Providore Café.

At around 2am on 9 October, a fierce blaze tore through Horsham's cherished Farmhouse Providore Café.

The courageous efforts of local firefighters, aided by neighbouring brigades and Fire Rescue Victoria crews from Ballarat, were able to save a number of nearby shops.

Unfortunately, the café was totally engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived, and it was quickly reduced to rubble as it collapsed.

Its heartbroken owner watched helplessly as her business, a symbol of warmth and community, collapsed before her eyes. An adjoining store also suffered significant losses due to fire impacts.

Farmhouse Providore was more than just a café to the locals—it was a gathering place, a home away from home for many. Regular patrons had long come for more than just the food; they came for the sense of connection the café offered.

Now, as the community mourns its loss they also unite in hope, rallying around the café’s owner with unwavering support.

While the fire’s cause remains under investigation, what’s clear is that the café’s legacy of warmth and connection will endure, supported by the love and resilience of its loyal customers and the wider community.
