Rowsley Fire Brigade seeking new volunteers

Rowsley Fire Brigade in District 15 is looking to recruit new members and re-engage with existing members to ensure it can continue to protect the local community.

The brigade will be encouraging all interested residents to attend a community meeting on Sunday 14 July to understand how to become a CFA volunteer and what is involved.

The meeting will also talk about the current risks in our local community and the importance of having brigade members.

Rowsley Brigade Captain Joseph Hammersley said the brigade is predominantly seeking active community members who can perform duties as firefighters after training appropriate to the role.

“There’s more to volunteering with Rowsley Fire Brigade than just firefighting. This brigade needs people who can assist with important community education programs, promotions and displays, fundraising and administrative activities,” he said.

“All CFA volunteers receive nationally-accredited training and develop skills that can be used outside CFA, including in the workplace or at home”.

“We need more community members to join so we can maintain our mission to protect lives and property now and into the future. We cannot do this without the support from the community.”

On Sunday 14 July 2019 at 11am, the Rowsley Fire Brigade will be holding an important community meeting at the Rowsley town hall located at 735 Glenmore Road, Rowsley.

The community meeting will be focusing on recruiting new members and re-energising existing members that may have been absent for some time.

Rowsley Fire Brigade urges all residents to attended and get involved with the Rowsley Fire Brigade.

The brigade is also a great way to involve the whole family in community service.

If you are interested in joining Rowsley Fire Brigade or would like further information on the community meeting please contact our Brigade Administrative Support Officer Jess Annear at District 15 Headquarters on 5329 5500.

We hope to see you on Sunday 14 July at our community meeting.
