One person has died following a fatal house fire at Lilydale in the early hours of Sunday morning.
CFA responded just after 3 am to reports of an explosion heard at Old Gippsland Road.
On arrival, crews found a bungalow at the rear of the main house was fully involved.
CFA crews from Mt Evelyn, Lilydale, Coldstream, and Bayswater brigades responded as well as a District 13 HQ vehicle.
The scene was declared under control just after 3:30 am and a stop was put on the incident just before 6am.
A crime scene has been set up and the circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined, with fire investigators attending the scene.
