2015 Cave Rescue near Buchan
A new collection of rescue footage and photography is now available in the CFA Digital Library, capturing the breadth of incidents CFA members have responded to over the years.
Among the additions is footage from a 2015 cave rescue near Buchan, where CFA members worked together with multiple brigades in a complex operation to rescue an injured woman from inside the cave.
The collection also includes photos of a 2006 chairlift rescue from Arthur's Seat and footage of a rescue at a residential building site, where crews worked to safely retrieve a person from the second storey of a house under construction.
A range of animal rescues has also been added, documenting the retrieval of large and small animals from various incidents and the practical problem-solving required to resolve them safely.
The new material adds to the Digital Library’s growing collection of historical and contemporary CFA imagery, making it easier for users to find authentic footage and photographs for communications, training and storytelling.
