CFA was called to a house fire in Unitt Street in Kyabram around 2:30am today (6 December).
Upon arrival firefighters found the single storey weatherboard house fully alight.
CFA District 20 Commander Paul Elso said around 20 CFA firefighters battled the fire.
“Firefighters wearing BA worked under challenging conditions,” Commander Elso said.
Half the house was destroyed, and the fire was brought under control just after 3am.
The scene was declared safe around 4:30am and was handed to Victoria Police.
The cause of the fire is being investigated today.
