House fire in Charlemont

Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire on Brearleys Lane in Charlemont at around 2.26pm on Saturday 2 December.

 

Crews arrived on scene to find a double-storey weatherboard house significantly impacted by fire.

CFA and FRV crews wearing breathing apparatus worked together to extinguish the blaze, which impacted most of the house and adjoining shed.

The fire was deemed safe at 4.20pm, though extinguishing and mopping-up work continued over the next few hours to ensure no further flare-ups.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
